This is a piece of art I have made for Inhonoredglory for her birthday! I hope she will enjoy it. Haha, thankfully I actually had time to make something because I am on my holiday break. During the school year, I have been way too busy to do much blog stuff. Anyway, I hope she will like it, and I am happy to get to share it with the blog. There are quite a few wondrous things in the night sky if you will only take the time to look up. How many can you spot in this paining? Hello! I am Usertoothless, and I am a Christian, a HUGE HTTYD fanboy, a Berk's Grapevine "Dragon Master", and all around nerd. This is my personal blog where I post HTTYD opinions, news, fanart, and fan fictions (along with the occasion content from my other fandoms). I hope you will enjoy what you see here. Here's to Hiccup and Toothless and their fantastic friendship which literally changed my life!

Merry Christmas, and Happy Snoggletog!
Well, it's a very wonderful time of the year again! I hope you have all had a very merry Christmas and a happy Snoggeltog! I will certainly be watching GotNF later today, but I thought I would blog and show you guys the few presents I got that were fandom-y. I love them and are super thankful. RttE: Reign of Fireworms
Well this feels... weird! Haha, it has been a long time since I last reviewed an episode. To be fair, I kinda grilled that last one (sorry. It just felt very OOC for Hiccup), and that probably made me feel hesitant to review another one. But, I am going to press on! I actually am watching this episode over again because I hardly remember it. What I really look forward to is episode 10, but that one will have to wait just a little longer. So, want my review? Razor whip Dragon Sketch
So, this isn't anything huge, but I thought it would be fun to kinda get my head back into the game by doing a quick line art. It was pretty fun to do, and it is the first time I've ever drawn this dragon. Click the "read more" to see the entire sketch.

Hello blog! Hello internet!
Well first off it has been WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long since I have posted! I have a legit excuse: final exams. However, I just finished those (and got the grades I was hoping for. Yay!), so now I can finally get back to blogging. How's everyone been?
Ok, I can say I've gotten about four pages finished in my next Dimension Splash Chronicle, so I might be able to post that before too long. I also still have plenty of RttE episodes I could review (and new ones coming out January 8th). I even read the newest (and last) HTTYD book! I even have an idea for some fan art. So, the question becomes, what would you guys like for me to do? I don't know how much time I'll get to blog during the holidays, but I do want to get some posts out. What would you like to see most? (ps. if you ask for fan art, I may wind up doing an HTTYD/Pokemon crossover. I know it's been done before, but I would like to do one).
So, let me know your thoughts! Again, sorry I've been gone so long! It's good to be back.

Usertoothless's top 4 frightening characters
Well, it's Halloween again, so I felt I should do a semi spooky post. This will be a list of my top four most phobia-causing characters (for me). Now, let me give you a disclaimer, these are all from movies that are not designed primarily to be scary. I don't like horror films, so I am sure there are monsters out there that would make mine look pretty tame. But, hey, these guys still count. They wind up being terrifying in perfectly normal, fun, awesome, adventure films. You don't have to be a horror monster to be scary! Also, be warned, this WILL include SPOILERS. Click the "read more" to see my list!
I've been a (mostly!) shameless fanboy.
So... I've been absent a lot recently! Apologies for that (again), but I am back with some fun stuff to post! First off, this post will have two extremely geeky things I have done in the last three days, so I hope you'll enjoy them. Click the read more to see that terribly fanboy-ish things that I do when I fall off the wagon.

Hey folks... SORRY!!
Hey guys... I am sorry I haven't posted in like a billion years. I really do love working on this blog, and I look forward to new stuff that I will post, but college has just been killer lately. I've had nonstop tests and papers due lately, and hopefully that will slow down enough for me to actually post something decent.
As far as my HTTYD news/thoughts are concerned, I've seen (haha, a while back) that we are getting a graphic novel written in part by Dean! That is actually very exciting, and I am sure I will be picking it up when it is published next year. The most exciting thing about this new novel isn't just that it is new HTTYD stuff (haha, we got that when RttE came out... and I'm still waiting for more episodes). No, the really exciting thing is that I am pretty sure this is the first time we will see Hiccup and Toothless in their post HTTYD2 lives. Probably my favorite thing I've ever written was my "One Week Later" short story. In that little tale I tried to pry into the stress that Hiccup and Toothless would go through after all the crazy events of the second film. Now we will actually get to see an official (and hopefully in-line-with-canon) piece of the franchise deal with Hiccup and Toothless after they have become chief and alpha. I'm extremely interested! I could care less what the big plot is, I'm sure it will be adventurous and we'll get to see new dragons and more of the amazing world of HTTYD, but I'm much more interested to see how Hiccup and Toothless handle their new roles. I mean, there is so much we don't know! What is it like for them now? How much "control" does Toothless have over other dragons? Do Hiccup and Toothless ever have strain in their friendship due to their new roles or due to the tragedy of the second movie? How has Valka integrated into Berk? What is Hiccup's relationship with Astrid going to be like? There are so many little questions, and I really am hopeful that we'll get (at least some) answers!
Well, I hope you all are doing great! It feels good to be back on here, even if I can only do such a short post. Wish me luck on tests, I'll need it!

Dragosaurus
Well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well, well! I haven't gotten the chance to post in WAY too long! Ah, it's good to be back! School has been a crazy, jumbled up, nightmare. Haha, now, I've been doing fine in my classes, it has just eaten up tons of my time! But, enough about that, let's get to the post. What I'm going to show you today is a very, very exclusive little club that a friend of mine came up with. Click the read more to see more.

Birthday Gifts!
So, I had a really great birthday this year. It was very fun, and my friends gave me tons of really nice things. I'm very thankful for all of them! Haha, now, I don't know if any of this stuff is quite is great as half of a fish regurgitated by a Night Fury, but it gets pretty close!

The 20th has rolled around again...!
Well, today is my birthday! Haha, which is pretty cool I guess. Yesterday I had my party, and I got a LOT of fun gifts. I plan to do a post tomorrow showing all the stuff my friends kindly gave to me, but for today I just wanted to post a funny crossover reference to my age under the under "read more". If you don't watch Gravity Falls, it won't make too much sense, but at the same time... it is a little fact about me that might be fun to know :)

Speaking from the Soul
It has taken me over a year to finally screw up enough courage to write about this scene. Don't expect anything novel or profound... I'm sure you'll have read other people's reviews on it already. There are MANY facets of the funeral that are beautiful, and unspeakably tragic, but I just want to focus on one element of it. I still don't know if I have the capacity to really discuss this as it deserves to be discussed, but I want to talk about Hiccup's eulogy... and what he says about himself, and what he says about his dad.

RttE: Gone Gustave Gone
Ok, so I am SORRY that is has been so long since I've continued reviewing RttE episodes! Man, school is just eating my time. But, I do have just enough time to move forward. Haha, I will also say that a few... well... negative vibes I got from this episode kept me from really wanting to review it. No worries, though, there are a couple episodes that I haven't reviewed that I LOVE, so I won't always have to pout like a big baby boo.

How Many More
Ok, finally! I know this Chronicle took me a while to produce, and I apologize for that! I was pretty busy for the first big chunk of the summer, so I wasn't able to write (plus my computer kept over heating). Now that I finally got some spare time, I sat down and finished the Chronicle. It's not the best one, but it will move you along in the plot. Things are certainly getting serious, so I hope you'll enjoy it, and please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments. I only got to read through this one a few times, so there are probably some grammar mistakes. Still, I hope that won't detract from the story.

Alpha Showdown
After a few days of intensive painting (it's been a LONG time since I've just sat for such longer stretches and done digital art) I have finally finished my art piece that started out as a sketch that I showed you guys a while back. I've done this style of painting before (in a painting called "There is no Love without Pain). It focuses a lot on detail but has fairly subdued, almost cold colors. That makes it a lot simpler for me. Anyway, click the read more to see the whole painting.

Laptop troubles... BOO!
Ugh, as usual sometimes real life gets in the way of fan stuff! Haha, in this case it is the fact that my laptop seems to have a broken fan, and that means it gets really hot and stops working! Now, it doesn't explode (although the above gif is a pretty accurate display of how I have to act towards it when it starts overheating). It just makes it to where I have to only use it for about thirty minutes at a time. That is one reason why it has taken me so long to finish my new Dsplash Chronicle. And, it also really hinders my ability to digital paint. I am planning on taking my laptop to a repair place tomorrow, and I have no idea when they'll get it back to me. Hopefully it won't be too long, but while it is there I obviously won't be posting any new analyses, art, or stories. I will still be able to reply to comments you leave here (through email), though I won't be able to see any images you might put into those comments. I do apologize for the delay, and I really hope the problem can be fixed quickly.

Alpha Showdown (sketch)
So, I have a potential digital painting in the works, and this is how it is starting! I have done a rough pencil sketch of what I want the final image to look like. It turned out well, so before long you may be seeing this same image in a slightly revamped digital line art and then (hopefully) a full color painting! The reason I did a sketch first is because I wanted to experiment with a new subject matter that makes a big appearance in this image. What is that new subject matter? HTTYD x 4!
So, yesterday was AWESOME. A theater in my area was showing HTTYD early in the morning. There was only one showing, so I was very lucky to catch it! Even though it wasn't in 3D... there really is nothing like watching movies on the big screen. I went that morning with my little bro (both of us sporting really cool HTTYD tee shirts) to the theater, and I watched HTTYD for the fourth time on the big screen! I really am surprised I learned about this single showing. A friend of mine told me about it almost a month ago, and then my little brother saw a flier and reminded me of it... so thanks very much to both of them!
It was beautiful... really it was. I do love that first movie so much. It is honestly kind of jolting to go back and see the world so different... see Hiccup and Toothless FIRST MEETING EACH OTHER. It is strange to see Stoick almost being the antagonist, to remember why Hiccup is so easy to relate to as the underdog, and to fall in love with Toothless all over again as he slowly opens up to the scrawny viking boy. I am totally willing to confess that I teared up in Forbidden Friendship... especially when Toothless first sits down by the drawing Hiccup. Also, the slight trembling in Hiccup's extended hand is just a gorgeous detail that isn't easy to see because it is so small, but rather noticeable in a theater! So, yeah, it was loads of fun! (Also, MAN, the leg-scene at the end of the movie is just heart-wrenchingly beautiful! Gah, who knew this series would be both happy and tragic!? The third one is going to kill me).
Sorry about my delay on the episode reviews. I should get back in the saddle before too long :)

RttE: Big Man On Berk
Ok... I now continue on my quest to write at least small reviews on every RttE episode. Haha... yeah. This one is probably my least favorite of the series, so I am probably gonna struggle to find positive things to say about it. You have been warned. If you absolutely loved it, you may just want to skip this review. Haha, however, it has been a day since I've seen it, so maybe I will have forgotten a couple of things that I disliked!

Toothless Calm Stare (Happy Birthday Toothlesslove!)
Today is my the birthday of my great friend and fellow HTTYD fan, Toothlesslove! She, along with Inhonoredglory, have made some really fantastic contributions to the HTTYD fandom as a whole, and they've both been great friends to me. This digital painting is a small gift I made for her, and I do hope she likes it. Click the read more to see the whole painting.

RttE: When Darkness Falls
Alright, as promised I am going to continue with my reviews! I just re-watched this episode, and I must say I enjoyed it quite a lot the second time. Nothing overly deep or dramatic, but it is really just nice to sit through! Read on to see my overall opinion.

Home again!
Alright! I am home again after my long summer trip. I can probably say with a fair amount of certainty that I will be blogging more consistently now... at least until school starts back for me in one month. I can say that I will almost certainly have a new digital painting finished before the end of the month, and I am going to go back and watch the new episodes over again so that I can finish writing reviews for them! Thanks for your patience, and I hope you are all doing well! (By the way, I made the above gif :) )

Quick RttE Update
I am going to continue to do reviews on the episodes. I've actually enjoyed watching the series so far! Gotten the occasional chill or chuckle or warm happy feeling, so I'd say things are going well! I really actually want to hurry and finish them, so because of that, I may not pause and do reviews as frequently. However, my goal is to do a review on all of them, so hopefully I will get to do that once I finish the first group. Hope everyone who is watching has enjoyed them!
RttE: Imperfect Harmony
Alright, next episode review. I know these are not long... nor particularly deep, but I am trying to make my way through the entire set of episodes. Once I'm done, I may be able to give some more thoughtful analysis on the new episodes as a whole. This next review will deal mostly with the Death Song, though of course I'll talk about other aspects of the episode as well.

RttE: Dragon Eye of the Beholder Part:1
Ok, I don't have a ton of time to do this, but I'm gonna give my opinion on this episode! Yes, I have now gotten Netflix and I am working through the episodes. Been pretty fun so far! Sadly, I can't take screenshots, so I won't be able to make gifs or have many pictures in my reviews... sorry.
Help Support the Grapevine!
Berk'sgrapevine is looking to make some big improvements, and if it wants to do so, it could really use some support! I am 100% behind this site... in fact I think most dragon fans are! It is a fantastic source of news, and I happen to know that DreamWorks has even been in contact with it from time to time. This site has become a great hub for HTTYD lovers everywhere, and the fact that Icelandic eel wants to make it even better is extremely exciting. If you would like to support the site, it has an opening for donations which can be found by searching the website itself or by clicking the link below. I bet we have some fantastic things in store!

Hiccup and Toothless cosplay JW
The above image is not the whole art piece! Haha, after seeing Jurassic World, I wanted to do a HTTYD parody image. So, this is what I came up with. It was a very quick art piece, so you will note a real lack of detail. Still, it is kinda fun. It has no spoilers, so even if you haven't seen the film, you can look at the image.

Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day (in your face Drago!). So, I hope you will all take some time today to thank your fathers and appreciate all they've done for you. I am sure after HTTYD2, we all grew to love Stoick more than ever before. I must say, I do have a Dad who (like Stoick) is an incredible person who I admire so, so much. I could totally give Hiccup's funeral speech concerning him. Is he intimidating? Yes. Do I sometimes disagree with him? Yes. But, he is a wonderful man, and like many other fathers he does what he does because he loves me. I hope he'll have a great day today, and I hope you guys will make sure that your dads do too.

Race to the Edge
Ok, so I haven't given much of an opinion on our RAPIDLY approaching Dragons series: Race to the Edge (which I will refer to as RttE). I will now give you my brief statement on what I think my experience will be with this expansion of the Dragons franchise.

Celebration of Light
Well, here is my next Chronicle. I hope you will all enjoy it. If you plan to read it, do know that you NEED to read the one I posted before it before you read this one. Anyway, this one is a lot less intense than most of them, and it was pretty fun (though difficult) to write. I do hope you will enjoy it if you get to read it. Apologies for any grammar/spelling errors I make! I have only checked over this one a couple of times. The Chronicle is about thirteen pages if placed in a document form. So, click the read more to see the continuation of Hiccup and Toothless's struggled against the Gemnodes.

Happy (belated) HTTYD2 day!

A comparison between two brilliantly similar, and yet very different films... both of which I love!
Alright, so I went and saw Jurassic World last night! Full disclosure: I loved it! However, I can say I hardly breathed after the first half hour because things got so intense! There are quite a lot of things in it that made me like it, and many of these can be found in HTTYD. Though I didn't enjoy it as much as either HTTYD film, I would like to do a quick post here concerning it. I want to compare and contrast it with HTTYD, and in doing so maybe pick out elements that made me enjoy both of them so much. I will warn you of two things:
1) This post will possibly contain MAJOR spoilers, so do not click the read more if you have not seen it.
2) Jurassic World is a PG-13 film for a very good reason. It has quite a lot of violence, and if you watch it and don't find yourself disturbed at certain points... you seriously need psychiatric help! So, though I really enjoyed the film, don't think it is as clean and beautiful as HTTYD. It isn't. And when I say I enjoyed it, know I enjoyed it for the story and the suspense... not the many rather grizzly scenes you will see if you watch the film.
So, onto the review!

Open for requests!
Alright, I now have a gif generator (as the last post stated). I would like to say that I can very quickly make gifs now! Unfortunately, I cannot edit lighting or add text, but I can give you accurate gifs of HTTYD. So, in this post I invite you to all feel free to ask for any gif you might want from the films, the shorts, or the series. I am happy to provide you with what you would like. Keep in mind, I might take a day or two to get to it, but I may also be able to get it back to you in just a few hours. This is an addition to my blog policies: all readers are fully welcome to ask for gifs, and I will try my best to make them.
So, do you have a favorite moment, but you don't have a gif of it? Is there some obscure facial expression you want captured? Or how about an epic battle moment? A cool stunt Hiccup and Toothless do that is ruined by camera blur if you take a screenshot? If you want gifs of these sorts of things, I can now make them, so please don't hesitate to ask.
And while I'm here, I will say that my summer trip is going well. I am being kept busy with a lot of work, but I still have enough time to get some fun stuff in. I'll be seeing Lindsey Stirling perform this Friday, and on the twelve (exactly one year after first seeing HTTYD2) I will almost certainly go and see Jurassic World. Then, on the actual release date anniversary of HTTYD2, I plan to watch the film over again. I've written another Dsplash Chronicle, but it is in the rough stages of editing. I hope you are all doing great, and I am sorry I am not around as often as I'd like to be! Keep on training your dragons!

My first gif!
Ok, so this week has had two firsts for me. I made my first meme, and now I have made my first gif. Unfortunately, the gif maker I have is very basic, so I don't have anyway to put a signature at the bottom... or add text... or edit color. But the gif making program was free, so I am really thankful for that, and so far it seems very easy to manage. Haha, and of all the moments in the film to gif... the one I chose is simply... um... beautiful. Yeah.

AoU Toothless meme
Ok, I know this is random, and short, but I at least wanted to post a little thing here! I don't have much free time in the evenings, but I did make this. A friend of mine noted how the line correlated to HTTYD2 right after we saw Age of Ultron. For those of you who haven't seen the film, this probably won't be quite as funny. For those who have but perhaps don't remember it, it was said by Hawkeye. Um, so this might be ever so slightly spoiler-y, and I'm sorry for that, but it isn't a big one or anything. Haha, anyway, here is the meme.

Random fun thing I picked up!
So, this is me coffee/tea (I actually don't drink coffee) mug that I will be using during my summer trip. I've just now arrived, so I thought I'd send you all a small blog post. This is something I really like because I love it when HTTYD puts itself into other fandoms. This just took Jurassic Park and made it BETTER. Oh, and I'm also super excited for Jurassic World... which is coming out in the same week HTTYD2 came out last year...
HTTYD2 will be better.

Exodus
Alright! We have my most recent Chronicle all ready to post! Sorry about still being somewhat absent. I am going on a long trip this summer, and I am trying to spend some time with my friends and family. However, I will have my laptop on this trip, and I plan to still make posts! I may or may not be able to do as much art... but I should finally be able to crank out some analyses! So, thanks to everyone for their patience. So far, everyone who I have allowed to pre-read this Chronicle (including Inhonoredglory) have really liked it, so I hope you will enjoy it as well. It is a pretty climactic one!
Also, the above art piece is my first real digital art of a Gemnode. This one is Venevonix Diamond. He may not look like your typical HTTYD villain, but he and Hiccup certainly don't share any affection for each other. The painting came out better than I expected, so I hope you like it. This Gemnode will play an important part in the story below, so now you have a pretty good idea of what he looks like.

Heart of Darkness
Hey everyone! I know I haven't been active recently, but hopefully I'm back! This is the next Chronicle. I know it has been a long time since my last posted chapter... So it may be a good idea to go and read "Returning to the Gemnodes" over again! This one follows directly after that one. I can promise you one thing, the Chronicle that comes after the one I am posting here gets really interesting! Lots of big events are starting to unfold. Hope you'll let me know what you think.
DONE!
Ok fellow dragon fans, I am FINALLY done with exams! Man, they were terrible! Last week was one of the toughest times I've had at school. I had a really rough schedule for taking the exams, and I worried that I would bomb right at the finish and ruin all the hard work I'd put into the whole semester. Thankfully I did well, but not without a lot of stress and a lot of moments like:
*head falls on desk*
*loud, exasperated sigh*
"I just want a Night Fury right now"
*leaves head on desk for several minutes*
So, anyway, I am back now! My question is, what do you guys want? I've got at least one analysis up my sleeve, but I also have time for art now, and if you really wanted it, I could post another Dsplash Chronicle. What are you all most interested in? Please let me know in the comments, and thanks to everyone who wished me well on the exams. Boy did I need it!

Finals Week!!!
Sorry about my absence! Seriously, I will be posting regularly again very soon! Last week was my "dead week" in school, and this week I have finals. The above gif of Toothless is a pretty good representation about how I feel about all those tests! So, anyway, come this Thursday I will be COMPLETELY done with school, and then I can start efficiently blogging again. I've actually got another big collection of school doodles I can post, along with two more Dsplash Chronicles.
Well, see you guys soon. Wish me luck on these tests! C'mon Toothless, let's kick tail.

For The Dancing and The Dreaming (Photo set)
Below the read more you will find 120 screen captures from the scene from HTTYD2 in which Stoick sings to Valka and wins her heart yet again. I would really recommend looking at some of these! I was shocked at how quite a few of the expressions I found in here made almost cry! Good grief that was a beautiful, beautiful scene.

This is so stupidly cool!
Ok, so my parents were driving home, and they came up behind this vehicle. Anyone care to click on the image and tell my what that license plate says?
!!!
Seriously, if you are the owner of this vehicle and are reading this post, you are ridiculously cool! Please comment!

Fandom jumping...(Edit: APRIL FOOLS!)
Agh, yeah, it is confession time! I know I wrote an entire post on why I though HTTYD2 should have won the Oscars, but to be honest I was kind of shamming. After buying BH6 on digital HD, I've really had to kind of hide the fact that the movie has stolen my heart. I mean, I still like HTTYD... but BH6 has EVERYTHING HTTYD ever offered and much, much more! So, yes, I am fandom jumping! I am starting up a new blog... so you can all just assume that I won't be running this blog anymore. It is just too much work, and I feel like I have pretty much wrung all the good stuff out of HTTYD1 and HTTYD2. I mean, seriously... I just finished writing a post about a twenty minute short that came out in 2011!! I think it is time for me to move on and get into something fresh. BH6 is just so fantastic, and it pretty much pushes all of my buttons, so why try and like two things at once when one is newer and better? I've got a huge group of announcements on my new blog, so even if you don't agree with me jumping off of the HTTYD wagon, you should look at what I have to say. Who knows, maybe I'll make you all into Baymax fans like me!

"It runs in the family": The thematic of heredity
Whew, take a deep breath! I am about to try and dive into one of the most complex... and TOUCHY... facets of the second movie. We all loved how Hiccup changed the world in the first film, we loved the line "300 years, and I'm the first Viking who wouldn't kill a dragon!", but then HTTYD2 comes out... and we figure out that Hiccup most certainly wasn't the first viking to ride a dragon. The question becomes... did Hiccup inherit his dragon-training, culture changing world-view from his mother, and does what Valka did take away from the significance of Hiccup's own actions back in HTTYD1. Obviously, this topic is touchy, and should be! If you want to venture with me into it, please click the "read more". Please note: this isn't meant to be a Valka hate post. She has many, many wonderful facets, so if I say negative things about her, keep in mind that I love her as a character... with all of her flaws and yet all of her beautiful strengths!

Digital painting: Mabel meets Toothless!
I got the time to do a quick digital painting today! I had the idea while Justoffravenpoint visited me this spring break, and now I have gotten the idea down into a digital format! It isn't a particularly fancy painting, but I hope it is entertaining! Any fans of Gravity Falls will hopefully appreciate it!
